MARCH 2023.
33 cl can, freshly produced and purchased directly from the brewery
Tropical aromas and ripe citrus fruits on the nose.
When poured, it releases little foam and a light consistency.
The appearance is, as usual, of a deep gold but far too veiled.
When tasted, the lightness of the body is striking, but also the low carbonation (a little too "flat"), which in any case does not affect the ease of drinking.
Fresh and fruity beer, with hints of tropical fruit (pineapple, mango), yellow flesh (yellow peaches, apricot) and ripe orange.
On the finish, with a very light bitterness, there is also a hint of herbaceous and resinous, but decidedly discounted slowly by the fruitiness that echoes on the palate.
One cannot help but notice a background of cereals, which refers my taste to wheat which however is not indicated among the ingredients.
Schematic summary.
Positives:
- Extreme freshness thanks to a very light body.
- Fruity drinkability with a slightly bitter finish, perfect for a summer drink.
- Extremely convenient quality/price ratio.
Less positive aspects:
- Appearance too hazy, too many suspended yeast residues.
- Note of cereal which makes it too "soft" and which in my opinion should remain more hidden from the taste of the hops.
- The slightly more marked bitter note would have given it a little more character (but on this aspect the guys from the Birrificio Pontino have compensated with other beers, such as the "Hop Machine" or the "Spaccapalato").
