This place straight up looks like the set of a "Saw" movie. Super industrial looking, slightly worn down. 100% workspace with zero seating. The upside is that this is far and away the best beer in Vancouver. They carry a wide selection of stouts, sours and hoppy beers and arent afraid to throw fun, experimental beers on the menu.

Legally speaking they cant offer you a flight or pints of beer. Instead they offer you "samples" (up to 6) for a donation of your choosing. They also offer on-site growler fills. If in Vancouver, this place is a must.

Creepy and awesome! Many will shy away if in the neighborhood, but don't let the looks deceive you. Brace yourself and walk in, take in, and enjoy the samples. Be warned this is not a "brew pub" or tasting room. It's right in the middle of the brew kettles and you can sample 6 of their creative beer from a plastic cup (by 'donation'). They fill growlers as well.

Leave the kids at home for this one (the wife might cringe too).

I know it sounds weird, but trust me....you're in for a great beer experience.

Storm Brewing is an interesting place. Their taproom is in kind of an industrial warehouse; there are no seats and you stand around amid the brewing equipment (which is kind of cool). They don't sell pints, only growler fills; they don't even sell tasters either -- you can have a few tasters and you're welcome to tip, but technically they don't sell you beer to consume on-premises so it's not exactly a place to hang out. That said, the beers I had were very tasty: a traditional Pilsner and a sweet/sour fruit beer that was really quite fantastic. Definitely worth a visit, but don't plan on loitering.
