Pale yellow appearance with bubbly head that quickly settles. Has a typical sweet grain smell with a hint of corn.

Taste is very hard to pick up, hint of grain and sweetness. Slightly sour, but that's stretching it far. Light bodied with high carbonation. Aftertaste is slightly dry.

This is a stereotypical light beer, almost no taste but refreshing and easy to chug down. I'm sure there's better light beers out there, don't bother.

355ml can, another bottom-shelf offering made (or, as the can states, tellingly, "manufactured", for the Crowfoot Liquor guild, or whatever it is.

This beer pours a somewhat lazily hazy, very pale straw colour, with two fingers of foamy, puffy white head, which render just a few specks of sudsy lace around the glass as it returns to whence it came.

The aroma is fairly straightforward grainy malt, tinted by its cornish nature (I ain't talkin' English hens, Mr. Spellchecker!), with hints of sour breadiness. Nothing really hop-like, I forgot to lower that particular expectation.

Flavour-wise, I get a lot of the same notes - grainy, bready malt, still corn-bred, but less so than initially presumed. Some faint pithy fruitiness bleeds through, as well as an equally low-key, plain earthy dryness. So-so, but not so bad.

The carbonation is a little effervescent, and kind of frothy up the palate, the body just on the low side of medium weight, and decently so, for a so-called light beer, and generally smooth, as the bubbles let up after a while. It finishes off-dry, the lingering bready sweetness limping along gamely.

Well, for a light beer, this is alright, nothing overtly off about it - not thin, not skunky. Now let's talk about the stupid name, shall we?

When I was young, my father drank beer. He would find the cheapest stinking beer he could find even if he had to drive downtown. It made it easy to shop for his birthday; we'd just get some decent beer, and he was happy. But if he was spending his own money, he'd get the cheap stuff. And it was awful. That's probably why I didn't start drinking beer until later in life.

This stuff brings back memories of those good old days. It comes in a can, and just like the good old days the taste of the can is the best part. It's intended to be cheaper knock-off Bud Light, but it's nowhere near as good as BudLight. But now I'm just as cheap as my dad was back then so I'll be sure to keep cases of this in the stockroom.

Silver can with vertical lettering, the light partner to Boss Beer. Manufactured for Crowfoot Liquor - a chain store brand sold at a buck a can.
From the label "Brewed with only choice barley malt, select hops, special yeast and pure Rocky Mountain water then cold micro-filtered for a smooth clean finish." A generic description for a generic beer.
Pours the pale yellow color expected with a short, rapidly disappearing foam. Slightly sour, grainy smell. Taste is average, nothing really stands out. A readily drinkable beer, for the price.
