Clear red-brown color. Poured a large head that took about a minute to collapse into larger bubbles and then a skiff. Initially a lot of medium sized bubbles formed all over the side of the glass. Then there was a medium flow of mixed size bubbles rising from the bottom. Left a few patches of lacing.
Sweet, medium roasted malt dominates the smell. There is a faint yeast scent. Swirling the glass kicked up a mild barnyard to join the sweet malt. There was a light, dry straw that showed up after a while.
Mild sugary sweet flavor with a bit of malt. A dry straw (perhaps grain husk?) flavor pops up in the aftertaste as everything else just fades away.
Turns into a light foam. Medium-light body.
This tastes more like a malty soft drink than a beer. There is nothing complex to the flavor. This would be okay to drink in place of something like Gatorade as a refresher after some exercise. It might be good to use in a radler.
