Nice to see some single cans at the liquor store during my visit to Abbotsford, BC.
Another 473 ml can to add to my collection, a new style from Bowen Island, and much better than the buck-a-beer cans I am used to seeing in Alberta.
Dark, golden brown color with a tan head. Foam quickly fades to a floating cap, no lace to speak of. Good caramel malt smell, with some bitter hop aroma. Flavor is well balanced as well. Solid malt base give it a good mouth feel and body.
Very impressed, wish I would have grabbed a couple more.

473ml can, another new release in Alberta from this brewery in the tall-boy format.

This beer pours a clear, dark bronzed amber colour, with three fat fingers of puffy, densely foamy, and somewhat creamy ecru head, which leaves some layered hillside garden lace around the glass as it gently subsides.

It smells of bready, doughy caramel malt, blended black orchard fruit, and softly bitter earthy, leafy, and weedy hops. The taste is grainy, kind of sugary caramel malt, a further watery toffee sweetness, overripe apples, juicy plums and raisins, hints of wet stone paths, and more plain earthy, leafy, and mildly herbal hop bitterness.

The carbonation is quite low and unobtrusive, barely registering on the ol' froth-o-matic, as it were, the body an adequate medium weight, and just a tad clammy in its generic smoothness. It finishes on the sweet side, the still heady caramel malt knockin' boots with the lingering dark fruitiness.

A simple, easy-drinking, and moderately complex amber ale, especially concerning where this is coming from. Maybe a bit too sweet to sustain a session of laid-back indulgence, but, as noted, good for what it is, i.e. yer average well-made gateway brew.

Wow,not only in a tall can available in singles but possibly one of the best ambers in BC. Full mouthfeel with lots of malt backing and no funny off notes( Bowen tends to cut corners die to their low price point). I was fairly happy with their IPA but this is their best beer so far and at the price a steal.
