473 ml can served into a Innis and Gunn glass. Canned in early august and enjoyed in late November when the notes for this review were compiled.
Appearance - dark copper color with good clarity. Minimal head and virtually no retention.
Smell - malty as all hell. Some fall aromas and a definitive creamed corn aspect. Reminds me of their Norfolk harvest ale.
Taste - fairly sweet again with lots of creamed and caramel corn. Plenty of malt with just enough restrained bitterness to keep it somewhat balanced.
Mouthfeel - thin bodied with a. Low level of carbonation. Despite thinness a little syrupy on the tongue.
Overall - not a bad red ale, but I'm not wowed with this. Just too much sweetness detracts from an otherwise solid offering. Preferred their similar (but more seasonal) harvest ale.
