Picked it up at the pub.
Pours clear golden with thin white head. Smell - malts, grassy holps with touch of honey. Taste - it's pretty sweet, you can taste honey in there, but I think there is a lack of hops. It's very light, clean and crisp. I think It's very balanced. It's very drinkable. Overall. It's a good beer, I'd have more

Picked up a 650 ml bottle of this at Spinnaker's liquor store out in Victoria.

Pours out a bright hazed golden wheat hue, quick splash of white head that dissipates immediately.

The malt is light and bready on the nose, sweet grassy notes from the honey, hops are a faint and spicy.

The flavour seems very, very mild and faint, quite watery. Not sure if this is intentional, or a result of the couple days of travelling it went through to get here to Calgary. There are no off-flavours present, but it tastes like someone turned the dimmer switch down to a low setting. The only thing that manages to perk this up is a quick dose of grassy hops on the finish, and a lingering aftertaste of clover honey.

Mouthfeel is thin as well, although not as watery as the flavour.

Something of a disappointment, I've been quite impressed by the beers from this brewpub, even their bottled versions. I suppose I shall have to go back one day and sample it on tap to see if this bottle was simply a dud...

I sampled this at the brewpub (5 oz).

A: Looks more like a blonde than a pale ale. VERY clear, slightly yellow, nice white head and lace.

S: Slightly bready, fresh hops (clean, soapy odour).

T: Nice bittersweet balance, bready, some honey (clover?) taste.

M: Light body, slightly creamy, moderate carbonation.

D: Good.

...versus their Doc Hadfield's PA, this is a fair bit lighter in colour, with a more golden hue to it. Good white head, with decent retention and lacing.

This pale ale smells of honey, malts and a good dose of hops. The hops aren't overpowering and the honey scent does not dominate. The taste is similar, and is well-balance with no one flavour take precedence over another.

Once again, Spinnakers presents a well balanced, tasty ale that is worth revisiting.

This is a beer that tasted different than I expected in a good way. This was citrusy and almost Belgian in flavours with lots of nuances in the finish. Bottle conditioning adds to the interest of this beer as I expected a fairly average honey beer rather than this ale.
