Brewed with heritage emmer wheat, flavoured with fig and star anise, this is a refreshing beer fit for a king.

Pours a yellow color with a small head that falls fast and doesn't leave much lacing on the glass. The aroma is pretty bland with a bit of citrus and grain. The flavor is much the same, bland. Slight citrus and slight spice from the hops, but there's nothing interesting here. I expected much more.

This brew was brought to me by a co-worker who is originally from Canada. It pours a light straw color with a 3 finger head that falls slowly. The nose is lemoney and orangey, with not much more. Nothing really excites me. The flavor is rather weak, with orange and spices being most dominant. I don't get the fig and anise that the label says. The feel is a light moderate with a very active carbonation. Drinkability is not bad. Everything is clean and refreshing, but its nothing spectacular. I'm not convinced the style is correct on this brew.

This is a beer that was brewed to coincide with the Egyptian display at the BC Museum in Victoria downtown. I give Spinnakers credit for using interesting ingredients such as Star Anise but this beer is forgotten as soon as the glass is empty. The lack of real flavour is the problem here as the ingredient list could have created an unique beer. Any food eaten with this pint overpowered it within seconds. Nice idea but bad execution.
