Aged in French Oak Barrels.
Dark Sour Saison has been aged and for 9 months in French oak barrels. This complex French Farmhouse-style beer has a rich and dark malt profile as well as spicy characteristics from a French Saison yeast strain. This beers sour character is the result of a secondary fermentation in barrels with a special blend of wild yeast and bacteria.

This sounded like an interesting one. And it is. A dark sour. The sour aspect is fairly background, but it pairs quite nicely with the rest of it. According to the bottle, it has a funkiness rating of three sails out of five. So I'm not entirely sure what that means. But it is interesting and different from most beers I've had, which is a plus in my book.
