The last of the Spinnakers bottles I picked up from their liquor store while out in Victoria.

Pours out a hazy chestnut hue with a quick splash of off-white head, that quickly settles to a thin ring.

Gives off the aroma of toasted malts, nutty notes, and a mild touch of coffee.

The flavour, however, is quite nondescript until almost the aftertaste, where a nutty, light mocha character presents itself, although still rather muted.

Mouthfeel is light and thin, and although this is a mild ale, still seems lacking.

A bit of a bummer. Not a bad beer, no off-flavours, it simply doesn't live up to the standard that Spinnakers has set for itself, and no real distinct characteristics to report of.

Probably my least favourite Spinnakers beer. It just doesn't work.

Decent appearance: mahagony brown, thin head. Malty, somewhat sweet nose with a distinct sour, almost "off" scent. Popcorny, diacetyl notes in the background.

Sour, unpleasant taste. Malts are present but don't lend any real sweetness. Muted hop profile. Overall taste is one of sourness and a beer slightly past its prime.

Not the best. Not horrible, but I expected better from Spinnakers. Better on tap than out of the bottle.
