A very average beer on tap. Tastes almost exactly like every other brewhouse beer on the market. There is nothing unique or special, or even memorable about this ale. I really wanted to like it, but I found myself thinking how indifferent this beer is. If you are in Sacramento, it is a decent place to eat and hang out, just dont expect a whole lot from this brew, although you probably wont hate it. Hey, at least its not MGD!

Poured a bright red/copper color with a small white head that left good lacing. Sweet malt aromas along with the smoke presence and a bit of peat.
Rich sweet malt flavor with a bit of caramel and a nice smokey
character. Good hop bitterness. Nice well rounded beer. I liked the layers of sweet/smoky/bitterness. Tasted like the smell of sausages on the grill...is that sage and rosemary in there as well?
Light bodied and good drinkability.
I'm really starting to like these smoked beers. The German bad boys are waiting in the wings. Stay tuned.
