I'm usually not a big fan of smoke beers, but this beer convinces me mainly because it is more subtle than some of your "smacked in the face with a charred log" rauchbiers. The nose is very inviting with smoke, nuts and sugar. Maybe even a slight spruce tone. Color is deep copper. White to tan head that sticks fully to the sides of the glass. This beer is served with a Nitrogen mix and that definitely contributes to the head retention and creamy flavor. The smoke flavor balances so nicely with the hops and bitterness. Caramel and hops play well creating a slight mocha flavor. Smoke lingers in the after taste, but for a "non-smoke beer guy" this beer is just right.

This was a decent brew, but its only high point was really the appearance. Nice head on this one. After that is was pretty much just above average. Very nutty and caramel in taste. Kinda different but not bad. Mouthfeel was a bit creamier than expected. Drinkibility was rated a bit higher because given the mouthfeel it was quite drinkable.
