Notes:
Originating in Belgium, this is a truly bilingual brew. Known as Biere Blanche in French, Witbier in Flemish and White beer in English. Unmalted wheat and oats are used in the grist to lend this brew its smooth, light body. Coriander seed and Curacao orange peel are added to the kettle to infuse this beer with a subtle, perfumey spiciness. The result is a light wheat beer with a fruity, tart finish - the essence of summer.

I am transcribing this from notes that I took last summer. Poured on-tap at the Steamworks Brewing Pub in Vancouver, BC, it was served in a pint glass. The beer is opaque from the unfiltered haze, and has a bright yellow coloring with a thick ring of white foam. Spicy and citrus smell, but muddled overall. It almost seems like the smells get in their own way, and they don't quite blend as well as other Wits. Medium-bodied, the beer carries a citrus-ladened flavor with hints of coriander and nutmeg. The afteraste is a bit of the spice characteristics that are lingering around throughout the rest of the beer drinking experience. Mid-lingering finish, this beer was disappointing overall.

On-tap at the brewpb with Tigglmtl. A sour wit type with corriander and citrus. But not a bad one of this Belgian type, drinkable as malted down. Cloudy grapefruit white colour with lace. Summer seasonal, but here it is. Some perfumey scent. Yeast and wheat and understated carbonation.

This was the first ever Witbier I had and it was one of the first experiences I had with craft beer, lo those 6 years ago. I got the chance to have it again visiting Vancouver last month.
Muddy, murky, opaque, creamy white brew with a big ass head and tons of sticky lace. Carbonation is medium. Spicy aroma with a lot of orange peel and coriander and banana.
Taste is spicy as well with a light orange bitterness mixed with a bit of banana, clove, and coriander. Malts are pretty bready, and there's a bit of funkiness that's a nice addidtion. Typical witbier flavours, but a little muddy in my opinion. Body is medium-full with wuite a bit of carbonation and a light stickiness in the finish. All in all a drinkable wit, and it left me full of nostalgia for one of my best nights out ever.

Light off-white golden with a small head of egg shell white foam. Aromas are all spices, coriander, orange peel, etc. First sip is spicy with some nice citrusy notes in the mix as well. Bready malts also come into the picture, but this one lacks hops, even though wits are sometimes very low in hop flavor, this one tastes like the hops just up and left. Regardless this is still a damn tasty wit with a nice medium bodied mouthfeel and a dry finish. Drinkability is good as well. A good brewpub wit, but i've had *many* better examples.

I had a pint of this after a hard day of cleaning my old apartment and boy did it hit the spot. This is the right balance between full body and east summer drinking. Slightly hazed pale yellow with the nicest mellow banana nose, this beer has the acid and the freshness to soothe the savage beast. The clove notes weren't huge but this was well made and balanced.
