The most progressive brewpub in BC could be Steamworks. This is truly a great beer that defies all conservative BC logic. Autumn sunset in colour with a nice yeasty citrus nose this is the real deal. The watermelon flavour is way in the back and really is just a marketing peg to hang a customer on. The taste is pure saison with fruit mashed in with Belgian notes finished with lots of acidic bite. The only fault I could find was the over carbonation of the beer as it seemed to be slightly jumpy in the glass. With a sour cherry beer and a pumpkin ale on the way Steamworks is setting the bar for brewpubs.
