Opaque brown-black color. Pours a brown-tan head that quickly dropped down to a thin skiff, leaving no lacing. Could not see any bubble rising.
Strong coffee and chocolate smell with a touch of yeast, slightly sweet. Swirling the glass adds a very mild barnyard and mint to the existing scents.
Tastes of coffee and malt. Slightly sweet. Mild chocolate. The coffee gets stronger as it warms up. Mild bitters. The aftertaste is more bitter and then turns back to a dark roast coffee.
Starts off as a thick, creamy foam which turns into larger bubbles but still retains the cream feeling. Surprising amount of foam for the relatively low carbonation.
Espresso flavor as advertised and expected. I'm just not a real big fan of carbonated coffee. I would prefer a hint of coffee with an already robust malt. Might be good with a scoop of vanilla ice cream added.
