Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a dark red orange with a quarter finger light khaki head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of candi malt, Belgian yeast, orange, raisin, dates and plum. Flavor is candi and dry caramel malt, dates, raisins, plum, clove and hints of orange citrus. Dries out a little into a finish that reveals some biscuit malt and light hop bitterness. Medium bodied with light creaminess and sharp carbonation. A respectable domestic take on a Belgian quad. Starts a with authentic tasting malt and yeast, good fruit flavors. The finish is a bit different with more biscuity malt and unexpected light hopping. Bills itself as a "New World take" on the style, so fits the description. A little on the dry side for a quad, but flavorful and Belgian in character. ABV well covered. Interesting.
