16oz can
date stamped 10/28/20
thanks to Ken for giving me a can to try!
L: tall & frothy khaki head leaves thick chunks of foam on the glass as it fades atop a cola colored ale
S: roasted grain, piney hops, fresh citric hop pellets
T: big roast flavors, French roast coffee, ashy, bitter chocolate; hops are piney and grapefruity
F: fuller body, very resinous, bitter pine punishes the palate in the dry finish
O: spot on Black IPA - it has everything I like about the style

16oz draft pour shows a black, or hyper-dark brown, body and floats a proud 1" head of beige mixed bubbles that leave the glass riddled with sheets of lacing.
Aroma of roasty malts, just short of coffee, and bright fruity hops.
Flavor is a nice blend of bitter roast, coffee free, and subtle fruity hops.
Mouthfeel is a lighter-leaning medium, smooth and clean.
Overall a nice clean ale with some roast and body. Easy drinking. Try it with a dry cheese.

Tasted in a 16 oz pint glass from draft at The Beer Market on December 17, 2015. Look is dark brown with a light tan head and some lacing. Smell is roasted malt and citrus hop notes. Taste is bitter dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans and bitter citrus fruit flavors. Feel is medium in body.
