Canned 9/7/22. ABV 11%. Poured at 54°. Black with ruby edges; dark tan creamy head with mixed bubbles; poor cap retention leaves island of micro dots; solid ring with some soapy lace; no legs. Bourbon/sweet whiskey nose. Entry is bourbon; oak, cocoa nibs; some vanilla as beer warms. Alcohol bite on tip of tongue; medium plus body; moderate minus carbonation; some warmth in mouth from 11% abv; dryish barrel finish. Overall a nice balance of base and barrel; very enjoyable with boozy bourbon linger; I’d gladly drink again.

Bottled late 2017; drank 12/17/17 @ the Yarchives.
Black/brown appearance.
A violent pour yielded a huge tan head; frothy lace.
Vanilla, strawberry, mild honeyed grain & faint milk chocolate notes in the nose.
Creamy, medium thick mouthfeel.
Vanilla, milk chocolate & mild strawberry flavors up front; honeyed grain notes on the finish.
Flavorful but a bit too sweet; for a dessert junkie like me this works, but beware if you require more balance.

13oz draft pour into a snifter boasts a deep, rich, mostly-black, brown body and floats a 1/2in tight bubbled chestnut brown head leaving sheets of lacing with agitation settling to an edge-hugging ring with spotted lacing.
Aroma is bitter roast, almost burnt, coffee beans. (I'm a little sensitive to coffee smells)
Flavors include a more restrained bitter roast coffee and chocolate. After taste is bitter coffee roast to cut the sweetness.
Mouthfeel is rich, full, and creamy, almost tongue coating.
Overall a well done RIS.
