A pretty solid wild/sour. It is a pale variety. The nose is very citrusy. The taste is modest lemony tartness (I happen to prefer more sourness) and not much funk.

Sour rye saison. Hey, an American saison that doesn't suck.
Pale gold, coarsely textured foam that sticks around for a few minutes. Leaves behind spotty lace and a thin surface skim. Dry and tart with a pleasant note of rye malt in the aroma. Light citric acidity in the smell and taste. Crisp and tart, minerally and alternately fruity/grainy with a nice rye presence and dry finish. Light bodied with spritzy carb, clean and well integrated, it's super drinkable. Had 2 pints without thinking twice about it. Though it's fairly simple, it's a a step in the right direction away from messy phenolic "saisons" that many US breweries try to pass off as authentic.

On tap, poured into a stange glass. the aroma is sour with notes of lemon and yogurt as well as a hidden earthy tone (although later this strengths with more of a rye bread note) and some honey. It pours an oily yellow gold with a white thin head that dissolves, leaving no lace or retention, The light bodied beer has medium sweetness, sour, and just a light touch of bitter tastes. The texture is light and oily slick with a light fuzz to it. A bread and grains palate contains notes of sour lemon and yogurt, as well as a rye and pepper spice. The finish is a crisp rye and pepper with a light honey sweetness and leaves an aftertaste that's dry and astringent with sour citrus peel characteristics, but overall clean with a rye note and slightly sticky.
