12oz draft pour into a snifter has an almost black, deep mahogany color and floats a quickly disippating off-white head that leaves just a glass hugging ring with random thin pools and no lacing. Head recovers nicely with agitation.
Aroma is subtle, but is dominated by roast malt with a slight hint of bitter hops.
Flavor is roasty sweet malt and a slight hint of stone fruit.
Mouthfeel leans thicker and heavy with an oily finish.

Billed as a doppelbock with vanilla beans. I don't have many frames of reference for doppelbocks outside of US offerings but thought this was a decent enough beer. Didn't get much of the vanilla in there but enjoyed the smooth mouthfeel and the marble rye bread notes in there. Good seasonal fall time drinking.
