Medium black body with a dark brown foam head. Smell has bourbon all through it, hitting coffee, milk chocolate, vanilla, soil and big salty peanuts along the way. Taste is surprisingly mild and light, bourbon is there but not too powerfully, rather sugary and salty chocolate, malt, peanut, nougat, vanilla and light coffee dominate. Not as cloying as most in the series, very much appreciated, some wood here and there helps with this. Feel is very light and slightly frothy. Hides booze taste well, but has the right amount of booze in the feel

This milk stout was a sweet sipper. Even more so that most I've tried this was a liquid candy bar. The coffee was certainly present but did not present enough backbone to counter the sweet milk chocolate. I imagine this is perfect for someone as it is well made, but complex it is not.

There is a whole lot going on here. Quite an additive fest, but in contrast with the usual standards for beers like this, weighing in at only 7% ABV. I really respect that, and they've achieved a great intensity of flavor, even if it's not as complex as I'd expect from so many ingredients. The bourbon barrel contributes some modest oak and puts a little stank on it, but this mostly ends up being a coffee and chocolate showcase with hints of peanut. Definitely glad I picked this up as a mixed single, and I'd consider checking out other variants in the series as a result.

Canned 4/2/19; drank 4/14/19 @ the Yarchives.
Black/brown appearance.
A violent pour yielded a small tan head; minimal lace.
Burnt black coffee, dark chocolate & faint oak notes in the nose.
Medium thick, creamy mouthfeel.
Dark roast coffee bean, cream & dark chocolate flavors up front; burnt oak & faint bourbon notes on the finish.
A bit too robust for the sweet stout genre; flavorful, but unbalanced & tough to love. I've had my last.

Had this on 2019-04-20 in Lemont, IL at the brewery on tap. ABV is 7.0%
A - Opaque dark brown with a short tan head.
S - Chocolate fudge and coffee latte
T - Medium roasted grain and coffee. Semi sweet chocolate. Light bourbon. Earthy spice. Pleasantly sweet and mildly bitter. Delicious.
M - Medium-heavy body and light carbonation.
O - Fun size never disappoints and this version is a leap forward. Well done.
