16oz draft pour shows a clear, dark cola colored body with ruby highlights and, when backlit, an orangish tint with a short 1/4" cap of tight, cream colored bubbles leaving random spotted lacing.
The aroma and flavor is dominated by roasted malts. For such a low abv beer, the roastiness is impressive.
Evaluating mouthfeel is interesting because of the color, taste, and aroma. The brain wants me to expect creamy, fullness, but that is not this beer; nor should it be. A lighter-leaning, medium feel seems almost watery(shut up brain) but that's not fair. The feel is a bit dull, though. It feels like it should be cask conditioned, or at least there is no bite, tickle, or other obvious signs of carbonation, other than some active rising bubbles.
Overall, an all-day, easy drinking mild for having a pint or two with the boys at the pub.
