Our yearly collaboration with Orange & Brew Bottle Shop & Tap Room in Downers Grove is a winter IPA! Head For The Chills was brewed with Maris Otter, Munich, Caramel, CaraMunich, Special Roast and Victory malts, making it a complex fireside sipper. Plenty of Mosaic, Simcoe and Chinook hops provide an ample bitterness to balance the big malt backing. Bundle up!

poured from a 16oz can dated 10/27/22 and consumed on 1/26/23 into a spiegelau IPA glass. pours amber with a three finger sized foam head that’s kind of dirty white to light sand. kind of reminds me of celebration but perhaps a touch lighter in color. a good amount of pine and malt on the nose and taste. there’s a touch of mixed berries on the nose as it warms. more floral aromas as it warms too. taste finishes a little bland or watery. definitely drinkable and even enjoyable but the aromas don’t quite translate into the taste. medium to medium-full mouthfeel leaning more towards medium. a little thin for a hearty winter IPA. overall, not bad but as the appearance reminded me of celebration ale it was difficult not to compare the two and this just doesn’t compete.
