Select Barrel Aged Personal Chain Letter is our Imperial Stout aged in Whiskey Acres Distilling Co. Pollyanna Select Bourbon and Rye Whiskey Barrels. We decided to forgo adding any adjuncts to this beer because of how spectacular the whiskey barrels were. PCL has always been one of our favorite Imperial Stouts because of the complex grain bill and lack of adjuncts and it displays this delicious blend of whiskies wonderfully.

16 ounce can into a snifter. Canned 9/7/22, had 11/4/22.
Pours a mostly opaque dark brown, with a quarter inch quickly dissipating head and sparse bubbles of cling. Aromas of bourbon, rye whiskey, chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, some oak, light char. Flavors of rye whiskey, bourbon, malt, vanilla, some chocolate, oak as it warms. Has a little bit of a spicy flavor. Smooth, a very good lighter full body, well carbonated.
A very good entry into the annual PCL list. Barrel forward- especially the rye barrels, but lots of good flavors from them. Had a pretty solid base, too. Tasty.
