16oz can into a pint glass shows a deep, dark, opaque, body with ruby highlights when backlit. Fleeting head of thin mixed bubbles leaves the glass clean behind, but agitation causes copious running bubbles.
Warming bourbon aroma with notes of cocoa and rye
Flavors don't quite gel, but include cocoa, bourbon, oak, dirt, and roasted malts. 10% abv is well hidden.
Mouthfeel leans thin, but it's not a stout. The only hint to this being 10% is the throat/chest warmth.
Overall, I expected better, but the aroma is intoxicating.

16 ounce can into a tulip snifter. A 2024 release, had 6/20/25.
Pours a semi opaque dark brown amber color, with a quarter inch foamy head and light foamy lacing. Aromas of caramel, bourbon, wheat, oak, light rye whiskey, light chocolate and licorice. Has an herbal aroma. Flavors of bourbon, caramel, malt, some oak, light rye whiskey, light licorice, a little wheat. Mostly smooth, a good but maybe a touch lighter medium body, well carbonated.
Pretty on point for the style, and has a great aroma, although the color was a bit lighter. Has a good barrel presence, but not sure the mix works all that well here. It’s not their finest effort, but it’s good.

I had this on draft 11/7/24 @ the Hopleaf.
Opaque brown/orange appearance.
Small tan head; nice lacing remained.
Medium roast coffee bean, mild maple syrup & faint fresh earth notes in the nose.
Medium thick mouthfeel.
Drip coffee & maple syrup flavors up front; rotten wood, mild fresh earth and a sickly booze heat on the finish.
The wood/booze lingers putridly at the end; I bet the base beer is at least decent but the barrel finish ruined this.
