Part of the Student Craft Beer Series. Brewed by G. Robert Bowers, 2019 who is from Redcliff, AB.
Appearance - Pours a straw gold with three fingers of frothy bubbly white head.
Smell - earthy, leafy, and floral hops, bubblegum aromas, banana, clove, coriander, citrus, biscuity malts, and spicy yeast.
Taste - earthy, leafy, and floral hops upfront. The bubblegum, banana, and clove are there but not as potent as in the aroma. The coriander and citrus are lost in translation. The biscuity malts and spicy yeast round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate to high carbonation. Finishes sticky with the banana, clove, and citrus lingering.
Overall - A brew that starts off on the right foot with the aroma; however, I feel that the taste was lacking prominence in some of the traditional flavours I would expect (e.g. bubblegum, clove, banana). With time and more experience this potential future brewer has a promising future in brewing!
