Part of the Student Craft Beer Series of limited brews.
An American style pilsner.
Brewed by Wyatt Wilson (2020) from Lafayette, California.
Appearance - Pours a dark straw gold with three fingers of bubbly white head.
Smell - hint of citrus, earthy, and piney hops, hint of pine resin, hint of citrus and orange peel, bready malts, sweet corn aromas, and earthy yeast.
Taste - hint of citrus, earthy, and piney hops upfront. The hint of pine resin, and hint of orange and citrus peel are there but are lost in translation from the dominance from the sweet corn element. The bready malts and earthy yeast round out the brew. Quite a malty brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes crisp and sweet from the corn elements.
Overall - A different take on the pilsner style by having flaked corn as a key ingredient. This one is quite malty but that's not a bad thing. If Wyatt was going for an American style pilsner, I wish there was more dominance from the hops but this one is quite sessionable.
