Another brew in the Student craft beer series.
This time around, Evan Case-Skubleny, 2019 from Delcour, AB presents his take on this style.
Appearance - Pours a rusty copper red with three fingers of copper tinged head.
Smell - earthy, leafy, floral, and weedy hops, caramel, hint of dark fruits, honey sweetness, bready malts, and earthy yeast.
Taste - earthy, leafy, floral, and weedy hops upfront. The caramel, hint of dark fruits, and honey sweetness come through next. The brew is finished off by the bready malts and earthy yeast.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes off-dry with the malts and hops lingering.
Overall - A pleasant American red from Evan Case-Skubleny. I think he nailed all elements of the style and made a nice twist by making this a balanced American red!
