Like the famous bodysurfing break it's named after, this pale ale is smooth, well rounded and has just a bit of kick. We use generous amounts of Cascade hops throughout the brewing process to layer this pale ale with bright citrus notes and a mild lingering hop bitterness. We round it out with a solid malt backbone providing notes of toasted bread and just a touch of sweetness.

From the Hawaiian style can, it pours a slightly hazy golden amber color with a modest white head that soon diminishes to a ring and does leave lacing. The nose gets some light grass and citrus, followed by the mouth getting a light bitterness with a mild aftertaste, though pleasant.

September 14th, 2015 - Wrapping up the last taster or two here at Honolulu Beerworks is the Point Panic Pale. A darker gold than most of the other tasters today, it's a too hard to pin down the nose. The open air is wafting all kinds of wonderful island smells into the building, but also wafting away the smell of the milder beers. The body isn't thin, but the flavor is. This makes the Panic pale feel refreshing and thin, but also short on flavor and on the aftertaste. The hops profile is here but tastes a little dulled and obtuse, like a poor imitation of Sierra Nevada. Even so, it works well in the tropical heat.
