I tried this last night for the first time. The bartender told me it was a 10%abv beer (unlike the 12% in the previous post - ???), which is why it was served in the half-pint.
A rich red-brown color with a thin head (nice lacing).
I thought it was served a bit too cold and got very little aroma initially. As it warmed the roasted smell came out more.
Taste was not the malty/sweet I expected from a "doppelbock" -way, waaayyy more hops and very bitter. I liked the taste fine, it just was not the style of beer to match the name.
Mouthfeel was good - rather full - again, many hops with a bitter bite.
I might drink this again, but I wouldn't say it's high on my list.

This came in a half pint glass as the bartender claimed it has 12% abv. I'm a little sceptical about that, but although it didn't taste strong it did have some effect on my nervous system, so I'm happy to believe it is fairly strong.
This was a rather light tan colour with a small head around the rim. It smelled more of Tugboat's stock flavour (floral hops with flour!) than the sweet maltiness I associate with beers of this type, and this was reflected in the taste. It started off tasting more like a lacklustre version of their IPA, and only as it warmed (even though it wasn't particularly cold to start with) did it reveal a malt influence which was still fairly subtle. At this point I noted a chocolate smell which I hadn't noticed earlier on. It never became the big malty brew that I was hoping for though.
I advise steering clear of this one.
