Tap pour at the brewery/taproom. Served chilled in a pint glass.
Dark brown colored body. Thin tan head which exists as a thin cap. Spots and strings of lacing are left behind.
Aroma of roasted nutty malts and dark chocolate.
Taste is roasted malts, dark roast coffee, and dark chocolate. Nutty, with a touch of caramel. Sharp, but minor bitterness in the aftertaste.
Creamy mouthfeel. Mouth and tongue gets coated. Good carbonation.
Good balance and a fuller flavor.

On tap at Whiskey Road, Cedar Falls, IA. Served in a shaker pint glass. Deep, nearly opaque, blackish brown in color (think strong coffee) with deep tan highlights and a thin light-tan head due to the taphouse pour. Aromas and flavors of dark roasted malt, with its attendant notes of molasses, licorice, chocolate, and coffee. Good carbonation and mouthfeel on the medium side. Lots of bitterness that obtains on the dry finish. Overall, a damn fine Irish-style stout.

Aroma is dark malts, coffee and very slightly musty. The flavor is coffee, dark/roasted malts, chocolate, mild fruit/dark fruit and a slightly earthy/acidic finish.
