Copenhagen 25/7 2023. 75 cl capped bottle from Mad & Vin, Magasin, Kbh. K. Dark, ominous label with Death sporting his scythe standing in an absolutely depressing swamp.
Pours opaque dark brown with a big beige head. Settles as a thin but frothy layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is intense, rich, roasted and dark with sweet dark malts mingling with alcohol saturated wood. Dark roasted malts, toffee, molasses and brown sugar. Whisky and barrel.
Low carbonation. Medium thick, oily, slightly viscous, creamy, flat texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a medium strong rough bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a bitter undertone. Lingering. Finish is dry with a nice boozy afterburn.
A wholesome and delicious visit in the Swamp.
