Copenhagen 15/4 2021. 44 cl can from Meny, Rotunden, Hellerup. The an looks like the cover of a Black Metal album from the nineties with the grim reaper clutching his scythe in an eerie green light.
Pours opaque, dark brown with a small beige head. Settles as thin patch of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is intense with a strong sweet odor of roasted dark malts mingling with a bit of coffee and earthy notes. Brown sugar, sweet root beer, light roast. Coffee and a bit of dark chocolate. Lightly smoked peat.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, soft, smooth, creamy texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and a bit boozy. Lingering. Finish is semi-dry.
Quite potent and fulfilling for a beer advertising the dry old bone-head with the scythe.
