Out of the way, very loud, with the bearded douche guy behind the counter who was pedantic and servile at the same time. No way in spite of the fact that they have good beer that this place is in business in two years. Beers just as good less than 5 miles from my home, why would I drive there to fell like an asshole.

Great taproom. Comfortable atmosphere.
Selection of their beers is very impressive.
They never cease to please and amaze.
Wish their beers were available across the country!

Great place for amazing NE style IPAs. Relaxed atmosphere, board games, ample space for an out of the way location, and frequent food trucks to keep you fed. Limited staff can seem somewhat overwhelmed at times, but that is almost to be expected when you have dozens lined up to fill their growlers. Always worth a visit.

AN interesting place, very busy for a Thursday afternoon. I do like that they separate the beer lines with the drink areas, so you can get your drinks and get out of the way. THe lines moved fairly well for how busy it was. Filled 6 growlers (the limit) and a few small pours quickly. They had a bunch of their own beer on tap, maybe 10-15 total, with a few bottles for take home as well. Bar tenders were pretty quick and fairly knowledgeable. The place was a typical craft brewery bar, with goofy shit on the walls, lots of beer based stuff, a lookout at the fermenters I think, etc. They also had a big bottle share night going on in front of us which I think is really cool for a brewery to do. Most of their beers are top notch quality, so that was also a plus.

Pleasant, hip vibe, with a laid back attitude, but super clean and professional space, tremendous design and eye for detail. The lovely beer selection is perhaps a bit APA/IPA heavy, but there were a couple solid dark options, and a handful of other style options. Food would be welcome, but this bustling spot was hopping on a Thursday night. Like the dogs - nice touch.

They really designed this place with purpose and vision. Brew Gentlemen has an awesome, higher-end yet mellow atmosphere in a quirky, rustic historical town that seems to be on the up-swing. The bar top is really cool, but next to the walk-up bar, seating itself on the L is very small. These guys are going to get very popular, and while they have plenty of seating elsewhere throughout the space, I don't think it will be adequate after another a year.

The bartender was very knowledgeable, and also had great taste in music. It was one dude serving approximately 40 people without a wait whatsoever--just absolutely professional and skillful pours while processing multiple growlers at once.

Beers here are phenomenal, all with an excellent, pillowy soft body and explosive aromas and flavors. Mostly IPAs and Pale Ales were pouring, but that's precisely what you should be coming here for, as they are stellar.

Went there on a busy Saturday afternoon but was fortunate enough to get a seat at the bar. The service is friendly and knowledgeable but it can take a little while to get a beer due to the crowd size. Very nice place to relax at, and while they don't have a large amount of beers on tap the beers on tap are top-notch.

Visited the taproom for the first time on a Sunday afternoon in Feb, 2017. 8 beers on tap, mostly an assortment of IPAs and pale ales, in addition to their flagship beers. Got tasters of all, and all were good, some were delicious (the NE IPAs in particular.) Took two growlers to DC with me and those beers were fantastic later in the week. The bartenders stayed busy filling growlers while we were there. Laid back vibe on the day we visited, but apparently the day before was a DIPA release and the place was packed. Brew Gentlemen should be high on the list to visit for any beer geeks in the Pittsburgh area. Best beer of 7 breweries I visited that weekend. A must visit.

Brew Gentleman is one incredible taproom… It is just stunning with a really relaxed, comfortable vibe. Sampled every beer on tap and they were all extremely well made. I was impressed across the board and it has become one of my favorites out of the 100+ breweries I have visited. About a two hour drive from Cleveland, just outside of Pittsburgh. Parking isn’t the greatest unless I missed something, but we went on a Sunday so it wasn’t bad and not busy at all. Service was great. I have no complaints at all with this place and can’t wait to make it back there. A true gem in the craft beer world!

Went here last night. Great looking spot, food truck outside. Plenty of cards and board games to keep ya busy. Had two different dipas that were both excellent. Wait time at the bar was very minimal, most times being helped within a few seconds. My only real complaint was it didn't seem like anyone wiped the tables down during the evening. Ours was sticky and had a pool of water on it. It was the only table available so we took the chairs. Definitely will return.

I love this place. The room is dimly lit and moderately quiet, perfect for having a couple friends around and talking. The staff is great. They know their stuff and the uniform makes me feel like I've been thrown back in time. Overall, my experiences here are second to none and this place is somewhere that everyone from Pittsburgh should go to!

If you ever visit Pittsburgh, be sure to take a trip to Braddock to visit this awesome brewery! Very clean, friendly and just cool place to enjoy some great beer. The atmosphere is so chill and just looks gorgeous on the inside and out! Beautiful wood lines the inside of the brewery and when you make your way to the back you can see where they brew their glorious beer. The bar has monitors with the beers on tap, The walls behind the bar are lined with their growlers and beers glasses. They also have board games! Outside they have a foodtruck, which serves amazing delicious food that compliments the beer you are drinking. One of the best breweries that I have been to in PA. Definitely will be coming back to The Brew Gentlemen!

Visited Pittsburgh overnight and had time for a couple of breweries. Hit BG just after open on a Sunday. Pretty quiet inside with a food truck just outside the front door. No food here, so the truck was a nice add on. Interior is small and divided into two seating areas about the same size. A third area houses the brewery which you can look out into. Again, visited on a Sunday, so not much going on.

Service was friendly and fast. Overall quality of the beer was impressive. There was only one person working behind the bar, but he did a good job serving the dozen or so people in the place. Really like the swing-top 750ml howlers since I was grabbing beer for a few friends and those are way easier to transport than screw tops.

Overall, loved our experience and would make time to go back. I can see these guys getting huge in the coming years.

First of all, I live way to the west of the city. BG is a little over an hour drive away. That is good and bad news!

Last weekend, my wife and I dropped the kids off at a meeting spot in Monroeville and went to BG. I really love the urban redevelopment stuff that's going on in the city. We live in a tough neighborhood, so going to Braddock wasn't a big deal. The place was really nice. Trendy and modern but definitely had their own style. I really appreciated the way the staff was dressed (shirt and tie). We got there at 7pm and there were tables and chairs to be had. My wife appreciated that.

The beer. Their reputation has been building around the city and after hearing my brother speak of BG being referred to in some DC social media, I had pretty high expectations. They still blew them away. I was also a little hesitant about the whole hazy beer thing. I've had Heady a bunch of times and love their cloudiness but I generally am drawn to the clear IPAs. I got the Legendary Weapons first. It was tremendous. I now understand what "hop forward" means. I thought I had had some juicy beers before. This really stood out. So much orange. So much juice. So different from most of the IPAs out there. Then I the General Braddock. Equally top notch. I finished with the Goblins. It, too, was really great. It wasn't quite "world class" like the IPAs, but it held up just fine.

There are a lot of new breweries in the city. These guys are doing something really special. I hate to say that because I don't want to wait for 3 hours for their beer in 2 years. But it was such a good experience there, I felt like it was important to share.

Thanks and keep up the good work BG!

real nice for the neighborhood this exists in! Re-purposed wood on walls and small intimate beer environment. go here for the NE ipas. cloudy citrusy dank ipas is what i like them for. they also do hopped up saisons pretty well too. sometimes can be tough to get service or have to wait in a line at bar bc everyone lines up when busy like its grade school lunch. they have awesome food trucks every weekend so all angles covered!

After finally talking about it I made it to Brew Gentlemen, and I went back 5 days later.
Parking at this place really isnt too stellar, but its not awful, there's certainly worse out there. There two different rooms here, one is named the Annex, with a large projection TV, so that's cool. First time being here was on a Sunday, and it was pretty empty, so it was very relaxing, decor is really cool with the lights and wood, really dig that, but I went back that following Friday and the place was crushed. Not sure if a party was going on, but plenty of local college douche bags hanging out, one guy had the nerve to bring in beer from another brewery...
OK to the beer/service.
Really great servers that know their beer that they're putting out, that's one of my biggest criteria for judgement on a place and these guys got it down. Good selection of styles, so you should be able to get something you are in the mood for. Beer is top notch though, this and Roundabout are tied for my favorite Pittsburgh craft brewery.
Dont wait, make sure you visit this place!

Probably the best spot in the Pittsburgh area, The place is a bit on the small side so it can get crowded. The vibe is classy and very nice in my opinion. The service is very good and the selection is too. Definitely a staple stop for me when I'm in the area.

All summer long (technically march through August) they're doing a beer and yoga combo deal ($5) on Sunday's. Food truck outside, one hour of yoga and a 5 oz pour of your choice. Super industrial vibe, very cool but in a weird part of town.... If you drive there and thing there would definitely not be a brewery here... Then you're in the right place. Love it, can't wait til next year if they do the combo again!

While nestled in Braddock, the vibe isn't Braddock at all. Very speak easy meets comfortable bar feel. Usually a nice size crowd but I never have a hard time finding a place to pony up.

Cool decor and laid back atmosphere lend themselves to enjoying several pints and even a take home growler. Nice little touches such as the usb chargers are a great for those who blow through their cell phone battery.

The only bad/funny thing I would say about the place is the Mens room. While clean, nice smelling etc., Is it a one holer or a two holer? Without a privacy wall I'd call it a one holer but I have walked in when someone forgot to lock the door and the guy already in said "hey there is another toilet, help yourself".

I would also mention that the cleanliness has never been less than a 5/5

Bartenders have all been very friendly and helpful. There is sometimes a line for the register but it goes quickly.

The tap offerings are usually pretty diverse and almost always include a few specialty tappings. Frequent visits are rewarded with new beers fairly often.

Overall, a great place to visit. In a short years time they have grown to be a standard in my beer world.

Watched the Pens win on a 10' screen, awesome! Wooden floors, proper glassware, good selection and the guys working the bar knew the beers well and gave recommendations to the newbies. The beers rotate thru fast since they are so small, but there is still something for everyone. Worth the 45 minute trip from home.

Great Place in Pittsburgh for any beer drinkers to check out. It's relatively easy to get to and they have ample parking between lot and street. Plenty of seating between the two areas. It only gets busy when they have the Food Truck rodeos which is definitely worth a visit. The staff is super friendly and easy going. No matter what experience with beer you have, they will help you find a beer you are going to like. They appreciate the BA crowd as well.. Beers are great, go check them out!

Our server at Roundabout had strongly suggested we try the new (5-6 months old) The Brew Gentlemen, but they were only open that day during our scheduled trip. Since our last stop had been fast and somewhat disappointing, we opted for a quick drive-by sampling on our way out of town. Located in (shocking) another industrial steel area in Braddock, PA, this building had a wonderful metal and wood charm to it, inside and out. In true Pittsburgh fashion, folks in Steelers gear were outside grilling up food in the parking lot when we arrived. A nearly empty seating area just inside the main doorway led to the bar area that was much more bustling. The two young bartenders were dressed in slacks, dapper vests, and ties--a big step up from pretty much all other taprooms I've seen. We found a couple chairs at the bar (for easy access to the taps) and ordered a mix of samples that all came out in small stemmed cognac glasses. They had a lot of beers on tap, with a huge variety. Saisons rubbed elbows with IPA, and wheat beers. To celebrate fall they had no less than three pumpkin spiced beers: a stout, a saison, and an amazing maple flapjack beer! But the winner for both myself and Sj was the Chipotle DIPA. Seriously who puts chipotle in an IPA? Keep in mind that both of us love spicy food and this beer may not fly with my Minnesota (black pepper is too spicy!) compatriots.

Whilst raving about the beers we discovered that both of the young gentlemen serving us were owners, and that the brewer was even younger. Am I getting old that I call 24 young? Yup. We got to discuss the beers a bit with friendly Co-Founder/Creative Director Asa Foster, but the taproom was getting busy and we had to get rolling. Overall I think that Brew Gentlemen is the one to watch on the Pittsburgh craft beer scene. Not since early Surly Brewing have I seen such a bold and well done grouping of beers in such a recent brewery. Well done Sirs, well done!

I've read enough about this place since 2012, I figured it was time to stop down in Braddock and check this place out. Thankfully there's a bit of a rebirth going on in the city of Braddock the addition of a new state of the art brewing facility makes it all worth it to venture back into Braddock.

I was able to meet Asa (from Boston) and Matt (from Hawaii), two CMU grads, who started working on the planning stages of this brewery for their senior project. The Kickstarter campaign helped fund the brewing system.

Their head brewer's name is Brandon Capp a younger guy who has an engineering/AB background that has really let him hone in his technical/consistent brewing skills...the job at the Brew Gentleman seems to be a great change of pace and really good fit to let this guy's creativity shine through!

Despite some of the buzz and marketing the finished product is pretty awesome, I'm no hipster I just turned 32...I was worried about being the "old guy" at this new modern brewery. Guess what they just finished wrapping up a one year old's birthday party, and there were people drinking at the bar ranging from 21 to their mid sixties (a very diverse crowd). This place has great potential I can't wait to try some of their barrel aging products, I saw a ton of barrels when I spied into the brewing/aging room.

I got in after stopping at D's for a couple Chicago Dogs after 4 pm on a Saturday. There was food vendors outside, which is a common practice rotating between Hootie's BBQ, a taco truck, and Greek food from Tony's Gyros associated with the one in Turtle Creek, PA. I grabbed like 10 grape leaves (dolmathes), not the best but I had something to eat once a got settled in at the bar.

They did a great job, very modern aesthetic the bar stools weren't "big guy friendly" spaced pretty close together, quite honestly I was afraid to lean back in the stool. The stool survived my trip, I was open to the fact that almost every seat at the bar at a USB and AC plug, since my iPhone was about dead. The mix of stainless steel, earth tones, and unfinished wood worked quite well...high ceilings music streaming from Pandora...pretty sure I heard some Dispatch. There's an entrance area with a lounge like area with additional seating, there's the actual bar space, which really seemed to be able to pack some people into it, very well done clean look across the board even the bathrooms. I guess their brewing system kicks ass I peaked behind a curtain saw some grain stored and other brewing ingredients, used bourbon barrels, and the stainless steel brewing setup. For added entertainment they have a dartboard in the back past the bathrooms.

The best part about this place is the selection of different styles. They had on four main stays the Business casual session amber, a great malty offering, White Sky a chai spiced wheat (sounded weird but quite enjoyable in a 5 ounce portion), General Braddock's east coast IPA a flavorful malt forward IPA, and Build and Destroy a wheat stout which was freakin' awesome!!! The variety comes from the Rapid Prototype Factory Series let's see I had a hefeweizen, a wheat stout, a session IPA with an experimental hop that hasn't been named yet, a chipotle DIPA There Was Only Fire, a reference from a Gorllaz song "Fire Coming Out of the Monkey's Head" of Demon Days. My growler worthy beer was a new age hopped American Pale Ale, it was so drinkable, flavorful, and well balanced. Happy to see a gose, the Brew Gentleman's version was okay. They had 10 taps with one dedicated to a mead from Apis Meadery from Carnegie, PA.

Overall word of mouth will help this gem thrive, I can't wait to go back on a Friday to try Hootie's BBQ, or catch the taco truck. I will keep on eye on their draft list and tell my beer friends to check it out if they haven't already! The most unique brewery/brewpub visit I've ever experienced these three young gentleman are doing a hell of a job, their planning/vision and direction from their professor at CMU all paid off!
