Please note: check the brewer's website, as this place is definitely a nanobrewery (it seems even smaller), and is currently only open approximately one weekend per month. The ratings given here are as true as they can be for such a small operation.
I thought twice about adding the place in case whatever publicity this would give might overwhelm, but the place is there and gets mention in Virginia craft beer publications. We had a very nice time at the place, even though it is basically a "brewery out of a garage". The atmosphere is that of a lawn party, out on the farm. The service was very friendly, if just a tad slow when we were there (due to volume, we overheard a "regular" say it was the busiest she had seen it). The beers were tasty, not earth-shattering, but I was mildly impressed.
All that said, per their website, it appears the proprietors are looking to grow, I just cannot say how well they will be able to deal with any growth. I encourage you to check this place out if you happen to be in the area on a weekend they are open (or have a growler to fill). Before you do, I strongly encourage checking the website (http://barnhousebrewery.com - needs correction above as of this post) for information about the place.
