i havent had a lot of beer from these guys, but the ones i have had, have all been splendid, and this one is too. its a bigger ipa, with some structure from a bigger malt bill but not the attendant sweetness. its got a neat hop profile too, unconventional, with a lot of the flavor coming right in the middle. maybe simcoe dominant, something higher alpha and pretty fruity juicy, but its not tropical like some, and its not wussy on the bitterness either, just very robustly flavored beer all the way through. its neat their tap handles are becoming increasingly popular, all of their stuff has been really good. i think this ipa has changed names and morphed a little over time, but the product it is now is awesome. i like all the body, i like the big carbonation, the sturdy but well hidden abv, and the unique climax point of the hop flavors. id love to know a little more about the varietals used and the schedule of additions, because this really has a very different trajectory than most. its anything but generic, and i appreciate that a lot. very well made american ipa.
