Out of the gate, aromas of fruits and caramel sweetness waft from this rum barrel aged Belgian style dark strong. Continuing through the first sip, the fruity and sweet characteristics linger, joined by a hint of spice, and conjuring impressions of sherry or brandy. These lightly sweet flavors are complemented by a pleasant, medium body and clean finish, though a slight warming at the end of a sip reminds us of the punch this unique beer packs. ABV: 9%

Nice mahogany hued body topped with a rather thin and patchy head. Kind of a fruity and red wine aroma; plums. Weak taste, like watered down red wine; really faint dark malt; big phenolic presence. Light body; watery yet very dry; rather astringent.
This beer really doesn't cut it. It looks okay and has some alluring smell, but the taste and mouthfeel are more thin and overly dry without any real malt character.
