Obtained a can of this Bock Lager in a trade. As the years go by, it seems that there's been a continuing decline in the variety of Bock Beers available in the stores in my area. Nice to be able to acquire a new one and even nicer to discover that it's a very solid example of the style. Wish I'd been able to acquire more than one can but I'll be looking for this one when Bock season again rolls around in 2019.

Pours a lighter brown color, clear, tan head.
Smell is pretty sweet and malty, some nuttiness. Flavor has big sweet malt notes upfront, good amount of toffee and nuttiness, some roasted flavors at the end.
Nice and easy drinking, they did a good job with this one.

Sampling from a cold growler poured into a snifter. The beer pours a dark mahogany color with a fluffy beige head foaming up 3 cm with a slightly less than gentle pour.
The foam fades slowly to a sturdy surface layer that leaves some tight lattice as it drops down the sides of my glass.
Aroma is clean with some caramel and toffee and maybe a little toasted bread. Not overpowering or complex but appealing and appropriate for the style.
First sip reveals a crisp texture and average thickness with some fine prickly carbonation that pokes my palate on each sip.
Flavor is spot on with some toasted bread and toffee and just a little roasted malt on the finish. Otherwise the finish is kind of dry with no hops or booze showing up anywhere.
A very drinkable bock and at 6.2 I think I can polish of this growler without too much issue.
Well made interesting beer. A winner from DuVIg!
