Had at the brewery today, served in the DuVig "can" glass. Pours that typical amber color, clear, with a white head that leaves good lacing. Smell is of sweet and caramel malts, hops are in the background and are earthy and piney. The taste is very typical West Coast IPA, the kind of stuff you could get in CT a few years ago before the crazy New England IPAs came into favor. Sweet and robust malt backbone throughout. Hops are balanced and are resinous and earthy, a touch a sweet citrus at the end. Finishes somewhat dry with a light body. Overall a nice stray from the IPAs you can get around here, however they are bucking the current trend and I don't know how people will go for this.
