Just enough malt to establish a base. Clean, floral hops taste. This would appeal to anyone that doesn't like bitter IPAs.

2/18/17...pours a clear brilliant bright gold with fluffy foam and active bubbles. Strong citrus pine nose. Clean taste, crisp citrus bitter. Heavy grapefruit. Soundly bitter and refreshing at the same time. Really sound IPA>

On draft in a shaker pint
Yellow golden color, white head. No lacing. Moderate fruity hop aroma. Taste is hop dominated, just a bit of pale malt flavor. Some bitterness, lingering aftertaste.

My first thought was that this was more like an American Pale Ale than an IPA. Not bad though.

DATE REVIEWED: August 2, 2014... GLASSWARE: ballpark see-through plastic... OCCASION: perfect night for a ballgame and some beers with brother Jer in State College...APPEARANCE: effervescent orange amber body; creamy white head; stratified, intricate lacing... AROMA: brilliant hoppy aroma of citrus and lemon--refreshing and light for an IPA; little malt to speak of... PALATE: full-bodied and demanding; strong aftertaste and prevalent presence at the teeth... TASTE: intense pine resin controls the citrus strength; malts arrive late to bring some sweetness to the profile... OVERALL: I do not blame the brewery for the $7 sixteen-ounce price tag, but when viewed as such, a middle of the road IPA that does provide some easy drinking and some punch; otherwise, I am not sure I will seek this out when returning to the area--its appearance in the glass alone not withstanding....

Sorry to make a pun on the already 'punny' name, but this one completely misses the mark. A nice-looking beer, but looks are the only thing good about this one. It's hops in all the wrong way. No balance, taste is simply off with a cloyingly bitter, lightly sour finish that's pretty off-putting. This whole recipe in my opinion is not a keeper, and they should go back to the drawing board.
