Had on-tap at HomeD in State college, PA. Poured into a snifter.
L: Pours an opaque brown color. 2 fingers of off-white head. Delicate lacing.
S: Nutmeg and figs... dark fruits and sugars on the nose.
T/F: A surprisingly nice flavor. Caramel malts and dark fruits... almost a little tart/acidic but very pleasant indeed. Mild spice notes of nutmeg and allspice. It makes me think of winter... smooth and drinkable.
O: I really liked this English Strong Ale. Great flavors, smooth, and it reminds me of sitting by a warm fire on a snowy winter day. Bravo to the guys at Robin Hood... they nailed this one!
