Pours a copper color with a degree of viscousness that can only be accomplished with a hefty dose of malt. Maris Otter? Prolly bruh. The head on the top is off white and about 1/5" deep. Aroma is malty, dusty, earthy. Definitely a british barleywine as the hops did not really come out to plaaaaaay.
Taste and mouth feel are actually lighter than the appearance would make one think. Some of those unsweetened dusty werther's candy feel. I keep saying dusty, seems like these come pre-aged almost. I think the EKG and Fuggle hops are pretty minimal here, but somehow get a degree of bitterness into it you wouldn't expect coming out the gate.
Overall its a decent barleywine of relatively low strength, perhaps one to bust out in fall or spring moreso than winter. Comes up short on a cold day when you want some power, yet does nothing wrong in the conventional sense.
