$ 12.59 (Including shipping)/19.2 oz can ($ 0.655/oz) from Tavour, Seattle, WA. Reviewed 4/30/19.
Undated can. Stored at 42 degrees and served at 54 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter.
Appearance – 3.75.
Body – Dark brown/black, opaque.
Head – Average (Maximum three cm, aggressive center pour), tan, medium density, average retention, diminishing to a three mm ring and a thin partial cap.
Lacing – Fair. Broken pieces consisting of tiny bubbles.
First pour – Brown, clear.
Aroma – 4 – Roasted malt, chocolate, a hint of coffee.
Flavor – 3.75 - Begins with a roasted malt chocolatey sweetness, not cloying but noticeable. No alcohol (10.2 % ABV) flavor or smell, no dimethylsulfide, no diacetyl.
Palate – 3.5 – Medium, creamy, soft carbonation.
Impression and interpretation – 3.5 - Yet another brewer who admonishes you to “Always Drink Fresh” but then doesn’t bother to date the cans (-0.25 points). This has an uncomplicated flavor palette – chocolate. Unfortunately, none of the advertised coconut appears in the aroma or taste and the coffee from the nose stays in the nose. A slightly above average brew at a premium price.

With a "Holy Mounds candy bar Batman" mantra, the Ursula brewers set their sites on those coconut and chocolate treats but with its imperial strength, its certainly made for adults this go round.
Very dark brown, easily mistaken for black, Merit Badge settles with a dainty creme and a smoldering aromatic set of dark chocolate, french press coffee, black walnut, coconut and cream. Its taste is sultry sweet with vanilla cream, toffee, brown sugar, chocolate and caramel.
As the flavors develop on the middle palate, its sweetness holds firm like fine chocolate dessert. Stubborn chocolate, coffee, cream and caramel fold in the coconut, walnut and coffee bean before trailing into a soothing taste and spice of kaluha and campfire.
Full, velvety and smooth on the finish, the beer's texture is rich but not overly viscous or chewy. Somewhat light and sweet, the boldness of flavor wants a greater celebration of texture- again to mimic the richness of Mounds candy not just in taste but in texture as well.
