An enjoyable beer but almost not to style. Served in a 12 oz schooner glass from a tap in a Fredericksburg pub. Almost orange in color, nice head, slight lacing. Mouth feel is good, a little bubbly.
Very little citrus scent, smells bready and earthy.
Tastes like it smells, mainly earthy, definitely enough hops to be an IPA but definitely not an East or West. Possibly an English IPA?
Tastes good but not my type of IPA.

Appearance: dark orange in color with a short 1/2" head that breaks quickly. Some lace spots developed during the session.
Smell: mild grapefruit aroma.
Taste: caramel, grapefruit, some ripe fruit sweetness, and a mild earthy bitterness.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer. Lightly crisp throughout.
Overall: an easy to drink IPA that was decent but not overly memorable.

Juicy, full of hop-centric grapefruit flavor and aroma. Lacking in a huge, bitter punch, which may or may not please the resident hophead. Certainly not a fruit cup New England style IPA, but not exactly west/east coast either. Forges a comfortable middle ground. An exceptionally sessionable, refreshing, go-to IPA.

Given that the last review is from the guy that just gave me a ride to & from my bank, I am going to guess that this one came to me courtesy of my local, in-person trader, tone77. It moved to the head of the line in the backlog queue here at Chez Woody when today's heat & humidity caused a corner of the CAN's lid to pooch up (and rather startlingly loudly, I might add). The CANQuest (tm) has experienced a few CANsualties this summer, but this one was recoverable.
This CAN was a behavior problem from the Crack! onwards! The pooch prevented the tab from fully engaging the tongue & I needed to use a pen to get it to fully open. I was getting endless foaming through the vent, so the Glug was nearly impossible to CANduct. Once enough of it had foamed into the glass, I was able to actually do a Glug of my own negotiation. It foamed and puffed up and fell and foamed and finally formed a finger of dense, deep-tan/tawny-orange head with amazing retention. Color was a cloudy Deep Amber/Light Copper to Copper (SRM = > 13, < 17). Nose was resinous & sticky with a pungent grapefruit odor. Mouthfeel was medium with a LOT of carbonation. The taste had an unbalanced bitterness as though it was simply saturated with hops (or even oversaturated, given the cloudiness). I am a self-avowed, self-described hophead, but this was simply too much, even for me. I know nothing about either the brewery or the brewer(s), but this clearly needs work. Finish was bitter and dry, but it didn't matter since it was not worth my time or yours. Again, I reCANmend working to tweak the recipe before I would CANsider revisiting this.

Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a golden/orange color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of pine, some citrus. Taste is pine, resin, some citrus and malts, medium bitterness, dry at the finish. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is an enjoyable beer.

From the growler, it pours amber with a small head. Some lacing as you enjoy the beer. Citrus tickles the nose enjoyably. Definitely grapefruit immediately a you enjoy the beer, no bitter aftertaste. Enjoyable!
This is from what I was told was the last keg before the switch to the larger batch version produced at their new larger capacity brewery ( which used to only be the Blue and Gray Brewery in Fredericksburg).

Had a 6oz taster at the Brewery in Fredricksburg, Va. Good flavor, nice taste. Very mellow IPA.
