On a trip to the USA stopped for one beer this is what I got. Fruity, slightly tart, with a hoppy backbone—appealing to IPA lovers but may be too bitter for me. Aroma was citrus and pine dominate, with a hint of floral notes. Mouthfeel was medium-bodied, crisp, and refreshing. Solid, but not a session beer due to its higher ABV (usually around 6.5-7%).
If you like bold, hoppy beers with a touch of fruitiness, you’ll probably enjoy it.

From the bottle, it pours a very dark brown, almost black, with a modest, soon diminishing brown head. In the nose, it is alcohol forward and then cocoa and dark fruit. In the mouth, it is lighter than expected, which is good, with a good bit of black malts, dark fruit and chocolate. Nice!

Poured a black body with minimal head and lace ring. Aroma has a dark cocoa smell with hints of dark fruits and booze. Sticky sweet chocolate flavors shine through a smooth, even lactic like silky smoothness (more from wood than any lactic qualities but just reminds me of milk stout sweetness) sweet body and finishes dry and roasty, possible coffee dryness.

Pours a dark oil. Smells of cocoa, bourbon, and coffee. Taste of cocoa and bourbon heat on the back end. Not overly harsh. Not super thick like most barrel aged stouts, but smoother going down. Overall a great tasting barrel aged stout.

Barrel aged from 2005. Pours a black oil color. The nose has some bourbon, oak and cocoa. The body is a bit thin with almost no carbonation. It has a dryness to it with a nice espresso finish. The heat from the bourbon is pretty much all gone.

wrong sized cork. beer was thin. too smokey and boozy that age wouldn't help. had a consensus of all four people at the bottle share I hosted. Was the first beer of the night so our palates were clean. I had pissing all over a newer local beer like this, but at $20 a bottle, it should be done better.
