Callicoon Brewing Company

Cool old fashion brewpub, on the 2nd floor of what appears to be an early 1900s hotel. Barroom on the far left side with straight bar perpendicular to the front seat about 8, with a few hightops and additional seating in a dining room and on the porch. Only 3 house beers, add a half dozen guests. Friendly bartender. I did not try the food.

 

This brewery/bar is out of an old 1700-1800's saloon. Very cool atmosphere as it feels like like old days without them trying too hard. This is more of a bar atmosphere with a few beers on tap that they make. They had a pale ale, an IPA, and a milk porter. Their milk porter was not good at all, the no bull was a solid American ipa, as well as their American pale. They had other good beer on tap and in can or bottle, but nothing that will blow you away. Someone recommended the Monster Brisket Sandwich. This was just OK brisket wasn't juicy enough and for $17 it wasn't that much food, definitely was disappointed with the food. All in all this is a very small town brewery with nothing but locals and regulars. Won't blow you away however, it was a cool ambiance given the old school western vibes.

Mary was a great bartender and server. The food was okay, but we only tried the nachos. The beer selection is solid. We visited during the day and they were understaffed at the time. Take this review w a grain of salt. No idea what it's like at night or on the weekends.
