Double IPA brewed with Norwegian Kveik yeast and 100% Simcoe hops using a mixture of cryo and traditional. Intense flavors of Cara Cara Orange and Stone Fruit lead to a lush and silky mouthfeel that pairs perfectly with the acidity of the yeast.

From a 16oz can, dated 07/26/22. Served in a spiegelau IPA glass.
Pours a thick-appearing, mucky and murky, dull apricot colour with two fingers of thick, lathery foam. Retention is unremarkable but leaves a heavy whipped egg white-like cap and a heavy curtain of tattered lacing.
Nose is thick-and-sticky, sweet-and-juicy tropical fruits. Aromas of pineapple, mango, mashed banana and orange.
Taste is heavy and boozy. Tasting composting peach and melon, overripe pineapple, orange rinds, sour grapefruit and camphor. Dank and ditchweedy with bitterness of the sour, composty, citric variety.
Feel is thick and juicy, sticky, relatively heavy bodied with overly fine, prickly carbonation. Sour, boozy warmth in the gullet. High perceived acidity? at any rate, I need a Tums.
Tastes and feels bigger than 8.5%, and in the wrong ways. Honestly, it was a bit of a chore to get the whole thing down but I manned-up and got it done. I’m usually an enthusiastic fan of anything Simcoe but I think it was the yeast spoiled it for me - live and learn.

A- Pours from the 16oz tall boy into a tall chalice with a murky, cloudy golden-orange hue. The cap atop the brew is three fingers high with great head retention. The texture of the foam is thick and very creamy and lacing forms with lots of really thick sheets coating the glass.
S- A good mix of stone fruits, citrus, sweetness, pineapple and tropical hops with some bright Kveik vibes in the backdrop. Bubble gum, mango, melon, dank, floral, tangerine and peach hop notes. Oats and bread.
T- The aroma translates over to the flavor quite nicely and the more subtle hop notes are not lost. The hop profile does shift more towards orange and citrus but those are backed well with bubble gum, apricot, melon, peach and pineapple juice notes. Lemon-lime soda vibes in the finish. Moderately sweet and some light bready hints.
MF- The mouthfeel is immediately a standout feature of this brew with a luscious, chewy creaminess. Insanely smooth and soft and again, straight up cream. Carbonation is moderately low with a bittersweet finish.
There are a lot of run of the mill IPAs on the shelves nowadays and thankfully this one stands out because of hop flavors that translate from the nose to the taste buds very well and a super luscious, rich mouthfeel.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.
A bit muddy looking orange, with hints of faint brown through a very opaque and nearly turbid looking body. Creamy bright white topped forming head, Making an easy three fingers, possibly four in height. Real rich lathery looking top, whipped like shaving cream and dolloped. Big retention and staying power and barely even budging. Nice aggressive IPA, wish that body color was a bit nicer looking.
An absolutely ripping aroma. Huge hop flavors of tropical fruit bursting off the nose. Mango, to sticky over ripe lemon, and even an almost banana like mush and peaches somehow. Thick sensations of dank steaming earth, with musty and sweet soil notes also. This is just a head rush that is just exceptional. Malt and yeast and body notes stay out of the way for this hop nose crush. Unique and super impressive.
Palate comes a bit unexpected. Lighter but solid backbone with flirting touches of wet fruit. There's a real unique sour orange bitterness and flavor in the mid palate particularly. Flirts with juiced qualities, but it's lighter mouthfeel doesn't quite get the beer into juicy territory of NEIPA grandness. Peach fruit and light touches of mild bitterness somewhere between herbal and pine round out nicely.
You would think with that exceptional nose we would be heading for greatness, but in the end the palate still makes a tasty front.

Pours a hazy dark orange with a small smooth head and a lot of lacing.
Smells of bright grassy floral hops with some citrus.
Tastes of tart grapefruit with some sweeter orange, pineapple and something slightly dank in the mix. The finish is mildly bitter.
Medium body with light carbonation. Smooth clean mouthfeel.
This brew has the bitter, tart and sweet playing off against each other.

I must say, the beer nails the brewer-describe characteristics right on the money. Super yeast, technohops, tradition all mixed together. This is a flavorful, fun, well made beer.
Pours cloudy orange with that white fluffy head that lasted half the glass, never vanished, tenacious cling. Not a total murk bomb, actually pretty pleasant.
I get tropical on the nose, a lot of orange, tropical fruitiness and earthy tone, and some weed.
The taste sneaks up. Sweet, orange, tropical, grapefruit eventually rules the roost, a little bitter builds, and dank. It gets a little spicy, and there is a definite doughy bread kind of background flavor. The sweetness holds up, but doesn't dominate.
The feel is outstanding. Silky smooth, kinda creamy, but nicely carbonated so stays a bit perky. A bit dry, nice citrus carryover.
I am going to say this bear highlights the yeast, with hops providing ample support. Dangerously drinkable 8.5%, but I think more than one or Two would be too juicy, maybe cloying.

Not my favorite Austin street but still worth a try. I’m just not a big fan of kveik yeast.
