Obtained a can of this Oktoberfest in a trade. It was my introduction to the Austin Street brewery and it was definitely a favorable one. Oktoberfests are my favorite seasonal by a wide margin and I've sampled a good variety of them this season. This was one of the standouts - the particular malty base flavor was what I'd expect from a solid Marzen Lager. 5.5% seemed to be the perfect ABV for this product. Rather unusual and eye-catching can design. My only regret is that Austin Street doesn't distribute anywhere near my area but, if it did so, I'd be headed to the store for a 4-pack.

Pours a slightly hazy deep oarange color with a bone-white silky one finger head.
Aroma is a bit weak with lightly sweet malt and lager yeast.
The flavor is not quite full bodied, so there is some nuance here with the sweet, lightly toasty malt coming through strongest and the yeast lingering in the finish.
Feel is a little soft and medium bodied with a light bitterness in the finish along with a tongue buzz.
This is a subtle Oktoberfest with beautiful sweet malt notes. Not bad - I think I may enjoy this more thasn the average of the style.
