Pours a large frothy thicker semi dense brownish almost 2 finger head with great retention, soapy lacing, basically black color
Nose nose brings nice dark malts, roasted malts with milk chocolate, a little coffee and toasted bread crust, but all that behind smoked malt, a rich leathery smoke a lot like smoked cheese, not campfire
Taste brings more smoke up front but not overpowering, light overall smoke with some more of that smoked cheese and leathery smoke again, rich chocolate and cocoa behind that, little dark pumpernickel bread crust, touch of baking spices, med-lighter bitterness, a little creamy, mild sticky finish
Mouth is med bod, med to a bit higher foamy carb, a bit creamy
Overall pretty good, balanced between smooth leathery smoke and smoked cheese with the basic porter base that still comes through nicely
