Pours a frothy brown 1 finger head with good retention, a bit of lacing, very dark basically black color
Nose intense dark malts, lots of roast, char, a touch smokey, lots of baking spices and anise, some dark chocolate, cocoa, nougat, little vanilla barrel, hint of whiskey I think
Taste more dark malts, black malt, lots of roast, charred coffee and a touch burnt but not acrid, plenty more anise and some baking spices, cocoa, very dark chocolate baker's chocolate, light vanilla barrel, nougat and little burnt marshmallow, fair bitterness from roast and spicy hop, mild sticky sweet finish, little warming smooth alcohol, lingering spicy hop bitterness
Mouth is full bod, rich a little creamy, med carb, light warming alcohol
Overall nice imperial stout that would rival some of the greats, but lack of barrel brings this down, I bet it would age quite well
